Hummus

We try to eat as healthy as we can and that leaves us most of the time making simple things at home. We feel better about the food we consume when we control the ingredients of our dishes.
One of those simple things is hummus. Middle Eastern style dip for pita breads and veggies.

To mix all the ingredients you will need a food processor.
Shown below are:
1 can of garbonzo beans
olive oil
balsamic vinegar
green olives
garlic powder
lemon juice
salt and pepper

Blend the rinsed garbonzo beans with about 1/4 to 1/2 c of olive oil until smooth.
Slowly add the other solid ingredients and blend until smooth.
Add the vinegar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and lemon juice to taste.

The end result will be a creamy bean paste that pairs fantastically with warm pita bread or your favorite vegetable.

Enjoy!

Bacon Roses

Roses are for the ladies and bacon are for our men.
To surprise your guy in one of the best ways possible you will need a few things:
Small muffin pan
Drill (drilling holes for the grease to drain)
Bacon
Fake flowers
What ever you want to present them in.

To begin you will need to drill one hole in each of the mini muffin spots in your pan to drain the excess oil and fat the bacon will sweat while cooking. After you have those holes drilled you will place the muffin pan on a baking sheet.
Next take one piece of bacon and roll up and place in the muffin pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes.

After they are cooked to perfection and cooled a bit take them out and place them on a paper towel to dab off the extra grease.

As soon as you are ready to handle the little bacon roses take the fake flowers and remove the flowers. You should be left with the stick on top of the stem and that is where you will place your bacon rose.
Arrange in what ever vase or box that you will be presenting to your man or work party as shown below.
Serve, bask in the glory and admiration you will receive, and consume.
